Picnic Season 2021
It’s almost picnic season and this year we are doing things a bit differently! Beginning May 8th our regularly scheduled picnics will occur the 2nd & last Saturday of the month! We will be offering 3 Brunch picnic slots at 11:30am in Highland Park & 3 Evening picnic slots at 5pm in Schenley Park.
We are currently booking Grazing Tables, Children’s Parties, Special Occasion, Engagement, and Micro Wedding picnics outside of these times. These events are booked on a first come first serve basis.
Also new this season: we will be selling DIY boxes exclusively from 11:30-1 in Highland Park & 5-6:30 in Schenley during our regular picnic hours. For any additional questions please visit our FAQ section.
About Our Business
Blanket & Board is an event planning company co-owned by social workers, Tierra Thorne and Colleen Peddycord. We provide pop-up, luxury picnics featuring charcuterie boards in the city of Pittsburgh. Our services include setting up picnics in Pittsburgh’s parks and catering private events.
Blanket & Board provides fun, outdoor experiences for friends to come together and indulge with a fancy picnic. We’ve delighted our customers with innovative, delicious picnics with plenty of options for every diet.

As both a female and minority owned business, we also want to create safe spaces where people of all backgrounds can feel welcome, seen, and heard.
Our mission is to uplift at risk populations in the community by highlighting local non-profits and donating a portion of our proceeds to programs that support equality and human rights.

EVENING PICNIC
Saturdays at 5:00pm in Schenley Park
May - October
The following will be provided for your 2 hour picnic: Place settings, cups, candles, an ice bucket, pillows, fresh flowers, a bluetooth speaker and a charcuterie board. Once you book, you will receive an invoice in your e-mail. This picnic is $250 for two people. Each additional person will be $50. BRUNCH PICNIC

SPECIAL OCCASION PICNIC
Host a picnic at your place or a local park of your choice. This option is available year round.
Interested in booking a picnic in your own space or local park? Contact us with information about the location and number of guests. We will be happy to offer you a quote. This is a wonderful option for family dinners, anniversaries, engagements, birthdays, baby showers and bridal showers. Pricing for the special occasion picnic will depend on location, special dietary requests and custom decor options.
The Special Occasion Picnic starts at $350.
DIY PICNIC IN A BOX
A To-Go Picnic
Plan your own picnic and we will deliver a charcuterie board in a box! If you live within our delivery area, we can also deliver to your home.
Our DIY box serves 2 and is a made to order charcuterie board in a box, prepared to be eaten within 1-2 days. The cost for this box is $60 which includes delivery to the following zip codes: 15201, 15207, 15217, 15206, 15224 and 15232.

Blanket & Board brings our expertise to your big event or gathering. Whether it's an office meeting, wedding, shower, family gathering, or brunch with friends, we'll keep you and your guests happy and satisfied with our delightful presentation. Plan your engagement with Blanket & Board! Our engagement picnic starts at $500 and can be scheduled on available weekends in May. It will include a custom picnic basket for you to take home in addition to a customized set up/custom time and custom location.

OUR FAQ
Blanket & Board is committed to providing our clients with exceptional customer service. We have laid out a list of questions that are commonly asked by our clients. However, if there is something that we have missed please feel free to reach out. We would be more than happy to address any of your needs and help you find clarity.
WHAT DOES MY PICNIC INCLUDE?
Each picnic includes charcuterie boards, picnic blankets, tables, pillows, candles, flowers, cups, plates, an ice bucket, ice, napkins, and utensils.

DO YOU HAVE OPTIONS FOR SPECIAL DIETS?
Special dietary requests? We are happy to accommodate most special diets.

Depending on your diet, we will supplement your board with extra items such as fruits, vegetables, crackers and cheeses. Gluten free crackers and vegan cheeses are also available. Just let us know when you book.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
In Pittsburgh we have to get creative when the weather gets finicky. We can change the location, put up a canopy tent, or if it's real stormy we can reschedule to a sunnier day.
HOW WILL I FIND YOU?
Once you book, you will receive contact information. A map of exactly where to meet for your picnic will be sent the day of. We will have a sign and a staff member waiting to greet you.
CAN I BOOK A LARGE PARTY?
Due to COVID-19, Blanket & Board is unable to set up picnics for large parties. If you would like to book a larger event in your own space, we recommend requesting a quote for our Special Occasion Picnic.
WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE YOU TAKING DUE TO COVID-19?
Picnics are a great social distancing activity! Guests are encouraged to have a mask on when not eating.

We will provide hand sanitizer, disposable cups, plates and cutlery to keep things sanitary. Additionally, our team will always use gloves and masks when setting up your event.
​
All items at your picnic including linens and dishes are washed and sanitized after each and every picnic.
WHAT IF I WANT MY PICNIC OUTSIDE THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH?
Currently, we operate mostly within city limits. If you would like to book something outside of those limits there will be an additional fee.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancellations can be made 48 hours in advance for a full refund. If it is raining, you may reschedule your picnic to a different day.
