Our
Story
Blanket and Board was founded in the heart of challenging times, driven by the need to create safe, healing spaces amidst the isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic and the urgency of racial justice conversations following George Floyd's death. As a social worker and trauma therapist, I was deeply moved to address the emotional turmoil and disconnection people faced. Recognizing the power of intimate gatherings and shared meals, Blanket and Board emerged as a conduit for healing, connection, and meaningful dialogue. Our mission is rooted in using food as a form of care and creating environments where crucial discussions on equity, justice, and systemic change can flourish. Through our picnics and gatherings, we offer a sanctuary for individuals and communities to come together, process experiences, and engage in impactful conversations.
